(Jocey, waving to the passengers aboard the Desert Princess)
This weekend, we took the boat out on one last trip on the lake. It was chilly. We all wore hoodies. But Jon, being the diehard that he is, skiied 10 sets. Jocey jumped into the lake once. She got in off the left side of the boat, popped up out of the water breathless, promptly swam to the right side, came up the ladder, and informed us that the water was cold and she was done. That's how we knew the water was cold.
We went out with Dawnie and her kids, and Jon's other sister, Holly. It was so much fun and we laughed the whole time. Dylan and Londyn each got turns to drive the boat since we had flat water for so long. And Holly almost got pooped on by a seagull that kept following us.
We stayed out most of the day since we needed to use most of the gas. We drove all the way from Callville to the Overton Arm, back down to Hoover Dam, went over to Hemmenway Marina, and then back to Callville. We saw the completed bridge at the Dam, and Jon taunted the snipers that we know watch the buoy line in front of the dam.
On the way home, we talked about things we needed to do to the boat during the off-season to get her ready for next year. It was a fun season this year and we're a little bummed that we can't boat for 5 months. Next year, I WILL get up on the skiis and Jocey will learn how to ski. So, we say happy hibernation to the boat.
