Stalkers?

Okay, so I joke on our blog about people that we blog stalk. Last week my cousin posted an entry about a concern of hers that people are just stumbling on their blog and people that seem to really be stalking them. She posted a widget on her blog that tracks who visits. I decided to do the same and I'm noticing a lot of traffic that comes in from other people's blogs and this concerns me slightly. So, I am toying with the idea of making our blog private. What are your thoughts about this? Would you make your blog private if you knew that even though your blog isn't advertised on blogger, people can still get to it through other people's blogs? Hmmmmmmmmmmm......... Let me know.

So I made my blog a few months ago, and I finished my first entry at like 1 in the morning. Not 10 minutes after I had posted my first entry, some random person that I had never heard of had commented on it saying "Hi, you don't know me, but I stumbled accross your blog and I think its reallly creative and funny, so I'm gonna follow it." I didn't know how she even "stumbled" accross my blog, but I was a little weirded out. I have never thought about making my blog private, but I know that I have come across people's blogs that I had lost touch with in a round about way, so I don't know. But I do know I love reading your blog, so just be sure to keep letting me read it!

Yeah, I've toyed with the idea, but I kinda like old firends being able to stumble into it. I also like it when I can do that with an old friend. But making it private is a good safety feature. I may end up doing it eventually.

So you'll have to send me the info on this widget. I'd be interested to see the traffic on ours as well. I have toyed with the idea --but I keep things fairly vague as to personal details...

Let me know...and keep us on the list.

This was always a double-edged sword for me. When my blog was public, I had old friends stumble upon it and now we're able to keep in touch. On the other hand, I think your family's safety comes first so that's why I went private. There are too many weirdos out there. I think it's a good idea to go private.
