Friday Financial Meltdown?

Well, it's been an interesting day watching the financial markets plummet. Every day it gets closer to a complete meltdown. I have sat back many times in the last week and wondered what it must have been like for my grandparents and other people who lived through the Great Depression of the early 1900's. I wonder what will happen, and if those shows we have watched ("Cinderella Man," "King Kong," etc.) will become a reality for us. Will we be living in tent cities? Will we be standing in lines for soup kitchens? It's an unnerving thought.

At the same time, I know that this must happen before the second coming of Christ, before we all will live the law of consecration. It's a scary world to live in right now. Not only is this happening, but we have the moral meltdown to deal with - Connecticut's Supreme Court ruled today that homosexual marriage is legal. We were over at my sister-in-law's house last night for dinner, and my nephew had the television on, watching "Fresh Prince of Bel Aire." During a break, there was a commercial about one of the other shows on that station, geared towards teenagers. It showed 2 teenage girls making out. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! This is the world that I get to introduce my beautiful, innocent daughter into! Sheesh, maybe the Amish don't have it so bad!

On a lighter note, here are a few pictures of my two girls. (Just to let you know, Jon is NOT one of my girls, in case you were wondering)

I had to cut Jocey's hair again this week, it's so dang cute on her, I might have a hard time letting it grow out!

Shylowe LOVES her daddy, and her ball. She's become very possessive of her toys lately. We bought her this ball this week, and she loves it. She put it on the couch, jumped up and laid right on it. I think she's afraid of Jocey stealing it!

You know, I just read a fictional book on this topic - of how it will be at the time of the comming closer to Christ's second comming and I must say that errily (sp) his book was starting to look right. LOL. It was written in 2007 projected years in the future. It was an interesting book and it got me to thinking about how un-prepared we all are. But it talked about tent cities and saints gathering at the temples for saftey and protection and how even some of the elect were not following the church. It was quite an eye opening book - for a fictional story. But it really made my brain start thinking. Now I just hope that we have enough time to prepare. And it scares me a little bit to think how bad it's going to get. Anyway, I just find it interesting that I've had this on my mind for the past few days and have been contemplating writing on it and you just did. So thanks for your thoughts. And I love Jocey's hair. The cutest!!

Um yes, I know exactly what TV show you are talking about..Its HORRIBLE. The crazy thing is, it comes on after cartoons that younger kids could be watching..Its really bothered us..
