[ Thankful Thursday ]

Today, I am just thankful that there is a relief to the heat here in Las Vegas (what my dad refers to as "Africa Hot"). We have finally broken the heat barrier that seems to have stayed with us ever since April. And this weekend it's supposed to be even cooler - I feel a trip to the mountains coming on to see what Vegas has to offer in terms of fall foilage!

I love fall, it's my favorite time of the year. If you've been to my house, you'll notice that it is decorated in browns, reds, oranges, and greens. For our family picture, we went for the fall look too - brown, red, and yellow shirts. I don't know what it is specifically that peaks my interest this time of year - I don't get much of it living here in th valley. But I do have very vivid memories of the smell of the leaves on the ground, the sound of them crunching, the first frost, and other festivities that come around in September through mid November. I'm grateful that Heavenly Father gives us variety on the face of the earth throughout the year. It would be pretty boring if it were one season all year round.

Catherine, your background is super cute! It is getting cold here too! It got below freezing last night. And I love the fall, the colors, the leaves, everything!
