Birthdays

Caylee and I had a great birthday.  I spent the morning wrapping presents and decorating while Caylee was napping.  Jocey was so excited to be able to help me.  Then we made cupcakes and frosting.  I learned from Jocey's first birthday that cupcakes are easier and you DO NOT use colored frosting - especially red or black!  For Jocey's first birthday cake, I made a cute Elmo cake from scratch, red and black icing.  Yeah, BAD BAD BAD idea.  Plus, I made my version of Nothing Bundt Cake - yellow cake mix with cheesecake pudding and sour cream in the mix and cream cheese frosting.  DELISH!

Then I got a call from Jon in the afternoon telling me NOT to make dinner, that he was going to bring home Mac and Cheese from KFC for the girls (their favorite) and Cafe Rio for me and him (my favorite).  He showed up with dinner and flowers for me and Zhu Zhu pets for the girls.  What a sweet guy he is.

We had Eric, Dawnie, Dylan, and Londyn over for cake and to open presents.  Caylee got some board books, a play cell phone, and a play camera.  I got some bling and a pretty green scarf.  After they left, Jon gave me a massage.  Ahhhhhh...It was a wonderful day.

Today I am thankful for my sweet girls.  I am so thankful that Caylee joined our family one year ago.  My life would be incomplete without them.
