A Month? Really?

I can't  believe it's already been a month since we have been in our home.  It seems we have accomplished much, and yet not so much.  We still have a few boxes laying around the house.   My bedroom is still a disaster area.  I am happy to report though that we have made some progress.

We have painted the family room and kitchen, and I LOVE it!  It looks so much better than flat, white walls everywhere.  We have pulled up the weeds and U-G-L-Y palm trees in the front yard, fixed a cut sprinkler hose, and planted some new bushes.  It's starting to look half way decent in the front yard.  Not anything like I want it to look, but it will do for now to pacify our HOA.  (We have to have a certain amount of vegetation out in front)

We have even had our first round of visitors.  My parents and most of my sisters came down for this last weekend.  It was a good time.  We celebrated my mom's 58th birthday, went boating (my dad even rented a waverunner while we were there, which I think was the highlight of the weekend) - and may I add that I had my first time out on skiis?  Yeah, I didn't get up.  Hm.  Maybe next time.  It was good to see my dad after having him gone to Iraq for the first part of the year.  It was good to have Elizabeth and Kent here, my girls just adore them.  It was really a pleasant weekend.

And now, we have our second round of visitors - the sickies.  I really dislike these visitors. They bring runny noses, painful coughs and sore throats, fevers, and sleepless nights.  I really would rather that the sickies not visit us at all.  It seriously would not hurt my feelings.  And this time, we all have it.  Boo.  No fun, especially when I should be cleaning house after visitors, and instead all I want to do is sit on the couch with my snuggie and a hot cup of lemon-honey drink.  Sniff Sniff.  I hate you, sickies.

I have plans to upload a TON of pictures here this week.  So stay tuned.  I am loving having my own house.  It is wonderful.
