3 weeks and Counting!

I cannot believe that in 3 short weeks, our sweet little girl will finally be with us. I am getting so excited! She's still VERY active, and we found out this week that she turned again and is now breach. Guess it's C-section for sure! It's so funny to see the difference already between Jocey and Caylee - at this point in the game, Jocey was hardly moving. It's almost like she didn't want us to know she was there so that she could camp out a little longer. Caylee on the other hand is so active, as if she is telling us to get her out so she can join in the fun.

It's Friday again, so that means I get to blog a bit. Last Saturday, we were so excited that we were going to be able to watch the BYU/TCU game. We don't have expanded cable, so we've only been able to catch 2 games this year. Sadly, the other game was against Florida, which they lost, so we were hoping for a win. We had a tailgate party, wore our BYU shirts, and were pumped. Until the end of the 1st quarter. BYU forgot to show up apparently. But we had a good time together as a family.

Jon's mom has been here with us for a couple of weeks now. It was good to have her here for a quick visit, and Jocey sure loves spending time with her Grandma Lynnie. She left on Wednesday to head back to Alaska. Jocey was ready to be boxed up and sent with her - Grandma lives in North Pole, and Jocey wanted to go with her to see Santa. :)

We also found out this week that my dad is being deployed to Iraq in January. This news was very difficult for me to handle when I first heard it. He escaped deployment during Desert Storm and everything else up to this point, so I think I had assumed he was going to escape this one as well. I guess they have asked him several times to go over (he is a Psychologist and they are in need of therapists there) and he has waited until now to volunteer so that he would be here for the birth of Caylee and my sister's wedding in December. Fortunately, he will not be in Baghdad, but up at the military base in Kirkuk. That gives me some relief, but there is still fear in my heart. But I also have an immense respect for the man I call Dad. I've heard a saying that goes, "Their birth made you their father. Your love made you their dad." It's so true. He has always wanted us to call him Father, but to me he will always be Dad.

Last bit of eventfulness at our house this week was the family coming down with the flu. It's been a lot of couch time, warm drinks, humidifiers running, and comfy jammies for us. So we are in isolation for the weekend, except for pulling out the Christmas decorations this weekend. I have been ordered by the doctor to take it increasingly easy so that we can make sure Caylee goes full term. So, I've pulled out the house decorations already, the Christmas tree comes out tomorrow (which is a labor of love for me since I LOVE lots of lights on our tree), and it'll just be up to Jon to do the outside lights here in a few weeks. (FYI, the guys directly across the street from us has a leg up - he already has ALL of his decorations outside, and can I just say HOLY FREAKIN' CLARK GRISWOLD? The picture is of him putting the lights up all over his house, the very beginning stages of things - yes, he rented a lift get them all strung.)

Oh, and in case you are wondering about the new widget on the left side, Jocey has been taking books to bed with her for a while now. But recently, they have been increasingly high in numbers. So we thought it would be funny to share that with you all - how many books she fell asleep with each night. It's really so funny to walk in there and count. It's a good laugh for us before we go to bed.

Oh Cat.... I had no idea your dad was leaving. I'm so sorry. What a blessing he'll be here for the family events. Enjoy the Grinch - get better. Can't wait to hear that Caylee is here and healthy. xoxo
