My camera has 9 lives, and apparently so does Jocey!

It came back to life! I can't belive it! When my camera took a swan dive into the depths of the fish tank the other day, I thought it was done. I even had already been looking around for another one, decided on one, and was determined to buy it this weekend. The day it died, I called my mom and told her my sob story. She suggested I put the camera in a bowl and cover it with rice. She works with cell phones, and I guess when people drop their cell phones in water, they tell them to cover them with rice. The rice apparently sucks all the moisture out of electronics. So, I did, and 72 hours later, my camera was functioning just as if nothing had ever happened! I am so glad, guess cats aren't the only things with 9 lives!

As a side note, so does my daughter. Seems she just can't keep out of trouble. I think I've written about her daredevil tactics before. Well, here's another one. Jon, Janalynn, and I were sitting around the kitchen table last night, talking about our move while Jocey was watching yet another round of "Meet the Robinsons." (I think since Christmas she has watched this movie exactly 567 times) All of a sudden, we here this hallow "THUMP!" Jon jumped up and ran to the living room, I turned around quickly, and Jocey started screaming. Apparently, she had been standing on the arm of the couch and fell backwards (something I think I have been warning her about until it been tattooed into the walls of the house). She left a souvenir of her fall for the next tenants - a nice fist sized indentation where her head met with the wall. Jocey's fine, the putty will be pulled out anyway to fill the holes in all the other walls, and hopefully we'll just call this a learning experience.

I'll have to remember that about rice! What a cool trick! I also get tired of saying "you're gonna get hurt!" It doesn't seem to sink in until it's to late...and then I have a hard time feeling sorry for them! :(
