[ Wednesday's Web Video ]

I was browsing around on a few of my friends' blogs, and I have decided that it is time for me to actually BLOG as well as post pictures of my cute family. I like how some people do themed days, and I REALLY love Ellen's "Wednesday's Wonderful World of Web Videos" so today is the Yates Yodeler's Wonderful Web Videos day! I'll post it at the end of my blog. But today starts the first of my efforts to really write down my thoughts and journal events happening in our house.

We had a crazy day yesterday (I know, you're asking yourself "So, is this something new at your house?"). But, it was a good day. First good thing was that I had my visiting teacher's over in the morning, which turned out to be a couple of hours event. These women are seriously amazing. Rebecca brought her newborn twins with her (which is another amazing story for another day), and Katie brought Eva, who is just younger than Jocey. It was wonderful to have good conversation with these ladies, and to watch our kids play together.

The message they shared with me yesterday made me think alot about the sacrifices that stay at home moms (and their families) make in order to be with their children. I understand that there are times when it just isn't an option, but I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has blessed us because of our decision to have me stay at home while Jocey is growing up. It isn't easy, and there are times when I wish we had the extra income to go on trips, buy new clothes, eat sushi 3 nights a week, etc. But the return that has come in Jocey's development totally makes up for it and then some! And as we discussed these things yesterday, it only reaffirms to me how true the Gospel is, and that if we live by its' principles, we find so much happiness and peace in the decisions we make.

Last night, we celebrated my niece's birthday. We were treated to a very fun evening at the Mini Grand Prix. We all had a blast, riding down the huge slide, driving the go karts, playing in the arcade, and eating lots of pizza. Unfortunately, our camera died at the very beginning of the night so I didn't get any pictures (yeah, camera phones, no matter how good the quality that they profess to produce, do NOT take good pictures). So, we'll have to go back again to get better pictures. By the way, any of you children of the 80's, do you know they still make Shrinky Dinks? My niece wanted some for her birthday, and I couldn't believe that kids are still interested in those!

Then we finished the night with our workout and scripture reading. I was reading in 2 Nephi, Chapter 31, and I had a bit of an epiphany. It may sound like this is something I should have known a long time ago, but I seriously JUST got it. This is what I read in verse 19: "And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save." Now, let me post how I read it: "for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon ... him." I realized that I need to completely rely on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for everything. I sometimes feel like I do not need to pray for EVERYTHING, because I have my agency and I am somewhat intelligent, so I should be able to make some decisions on my own. I have learned that nothing is unimportant and that we should pray about everything going on in our lives - positive or negative, big or little.

Here's your web video for the day! We love any video of laughing babies, and this one is priceless. Now, if only I could get things like this to entertain Jocey!
