I was excited to see if Jocey would like cutting out the cookies. She did. She kept telling me, "Mommy, push, please!" because everytime I pushed down on the cookie cutters, I gave her an exagerated "PUSH!" Hilarious. And then everytime she leaned over the counter, she got covered in flour, which at first she didn't like but didn't care much once we got into cutting the cookies out. She loved that I had a flower, star, butterfly, and circle cookie cutter (I think largely because those are the ones that she can say).
Then to decorate, I thought it might be fun to let her "paint" the cookies. I took egg yolks and food coloring, then bought some cheap paint brushes and let her have at it. Daddy helped a bit, and they made some beautiful cookies to take around to her friends. Hence the title of Family Home Evening last night was "Sharing Our Talents." She had a blast. Here are a few pictures:

so cute!! I rarely make sugar cookies with the kids! They are so much work, but that is a super cute idea with the paint brushes. Once it cools down I might do that for the fall. They would probably like it more than the sprinkles.
You are such a fun mom! Looking at your pics made me hungry I am such a sucker for baked goods.
yummo! that lloks like a lot of fun!!!
