We received a phone call, early Saturday morning, that Jon's best friend of 15+ years passed away suddenly. Nate Davis. It has hit us hard, especially Jon. He was our age, had 2 biological daughters, 2 adopted sons, and had just married his sweetheart. It's gut wrenching. And very somberly, we realized that every moment, every second matters with our family. So, even though Jon had tons of homework , it was late for the girls, and work this morning, he set us all on the couch to watch a movie. He held me tight last night. I don't think he got much sleep.
Take some time today, tomorrow, and every day to hold your loved ones close. Never take them for granted. Speak kindly. Laugh with them. Create memories. Because you never know when that one day may come when you don't have each other.
