We've started a few activities in preparation for the coming months. Plus, when Jon is gone on business trips, I tend to take on a project or two to keep me busy. This time around, it was planting tomatoes.
Jocey has FINALLY learned how to ride her bike. We're so proud of our little cruiser!
We bought Jocey her first life jacket for our trip in July (boating), as well for the pool and Lake Mead. She is so excited to wear it this summer.
We have made our first attempt at growing tomatoes. Jon and Jocey are so excited because they love tomatoes so much. Plus, Jocey is so interested in the plants and when we will see the tomatoes. She helped me plant them tonight in pots. We'll set them on our back patio and see what happens!
Jocey let me do all the dirty work (aka, pouring the nasty manure soil into the pot and digging the hole for the plant). When she smelled the soil, she said, "OOOOH MOM! It stinks!" She was all too happy to just be in charge of putting the plant in the hole. She also had a good time helping me water the plants.
Our final product - stay tuned for updates! We're looking forward to big juicy homegrown tomatoes this summer.

yeah for tomatoes!! I hate 'em, but my family loves them! Will we be able to plant them here?? I may never know!
You'll have to let me know how your tomatoes turn out! My dad (who is a huge gardener) is always after me to plan some here in Vegas. It makes me miss my garden back in Utah! :(
now that we have a balcony maddy is so wanting to plant flowers or whatever...just plant something mom!! she is excited to get a watering can out of the deal. They are so cute and curious at this age and it's fun!!
Yummy! Tomatoes sound great right now. I'm jealous of your hot weather. I wish it would warm up around here.
Good thing the morning sickness has subsided or that manure would have done wonders on your queasy stomach. Or, maybe it did?? :)
So fun! I bet Jocey is going to LOVE going out and water her tomatoes each day. =) Good luck with your maters!
