Winter Lights Festival

Tonight, we went to see the Winter Lights Festival at the Springs Preserve. We have annual passes to the Preserve, so we get to enjoy all of the things they do throughout the year. It was so much fun - chilly, but fun. We had Jocey all bundled up, and she was thrilled to be out of the house and able to run around on the grass. But most of all, she was SO excited to see the "Big Guy:"

As soon as she saw Santa, and had her freedom, she literally ran into his arms and gave him a big hug.

She had a nice conversation with him, telling him all about the presents she wants for Christmas. He was so awesome, he even let her feel the fur on his suit and hat, and of course the hair on his chiny chin chin! We were so excited to see that she was so happy to see him. No crying kids for us! YAY!

The whole place was decked out in lights. Elmo, Frosty, and several elves also made an appearance. Jocey was happy to see Elmo too, but didn't care too much for Frosty. Frankly, he was a bit scarey. Here are a few other pictures, including what Jon calls the state Christmas tree (aka Cactus):

To end the night, we took a little train ride on the "Polar Express" (in case Jocey asks, that was the name of it, wink wink). It was a fun night, and we plan on taking at least one more trip before they close it at the end of the month.

Too funny! We were there that same night. The place is huge, so it's no wonder we missed each other. We had never been there before, and we definitely look forward to going more often!
