I feel more than ever that politics has become this - a mass suicide of following one of two parties, Democrats or Republicans. Why do we keep doing this? Are we just too lazy to explore the other options? You know, we DO have other options, other parties, even write-ins! So this year, because Jon and I are so disgusted with both the Democratic and Republican nominees, we were going to investigate the other options.
It's hilarious to me, because there's a quiz online that you probably have gotten a mass email about, where you go take a quiz to find out who you should vote for based on a series of questions. Funny thing is that 90% of the time, the results will be within 1 or 2 questions. Why should we have to settle on two people who we partially agree with, and partially don't? Why don't Obama and McCain have a child together, and then THAT kid can run for president? Hm, maybe not, because then they'd have to have gay marriage, etc. Crap. Oh well, I guess I can't be lazy and will have to research it out, isn't that why I went to 5 years of college?
Well, after much investigation, we found someone who matches our values almost entirely. The funny thing is that this guy is a baptist minister. Never thought a Mormon would be voting for a Baptist. Ha ha ha. The candidate I am talking about is Chuck Baldwin. I've linked this to his website, and we think everyone should check him out. I know it's a little late in the game, and I've been meaning to write about it on our blog for sometime, just got sidetracked I guess. Anyway, he is the candidate from the Constitution Party. See what you think, just know, you don't have to be a lemming.
