College Fund

For Jocey's birthday this year, she was given many gifts. My parents sent her a check. Thoughtful and very true to their character, the memo line read as follows: "College Fund." This is where her college fund now lies...

Now let me explain. We didn't just blow her college fund on a whim and a toy that will be packed away in a month. We have a dream for our little 90th-percentile-in-height daughter. We dream one day of attending a middle school basketball game... Because of her practice as a young child with her Little Tykes basketball hoop (which fueled her love for the game), she is their star player...When she becomes a freshman, she is chosen for the junior varsity team...Her sophmore year, she makes the varsity team...She becomes the team captain her junior year...At one of her senior year games, her parents will be cheering in the stands...It will be a total blowout...A scout will be there...He will walk up to her and her parents at the end of the game, and offer her a full ride scholarship to the university of her choice. Now there's your college fund!

Awesome! I like this idea. Too bad my kids height percentile is hovering between the 3-5% range.

Cute post!

I loved it!!! Maybe I should do this for Alexandra...at her last appointment she was so tall that she's not even on the chart at all! Not sure where she gets it from.....

I think that's a great idea - cheer for the talent! We're thinking of investing in jockey training for Scott as he's in the 5th percentile range - who knows? :) Jocey is so cute!
